Client: DEC

On 6 February 2023, devastating earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria, gripping both nations with destruction and loss. In response, the UK public rallied together through the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC)’s Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal, raising an extraordinary £150 million, one of the most significant fundraising efforts in the DEC’s 60-year history.

A year later, while the disaster was no longer at the forefront of public attention, its impact was still deeply felt by survivors. To remind audiences of the ongoing struggles and the power of their generosity, we created a film marking the anniversary. The Locker tells a story of resilience and hope, highlighting how donations made a tangible difference in rebuilding lives.Shot entirely from the perspective of a hospital locker, the film is inspired by a real neonatal hospital in northwest Syria that was kept running thanks to the appeal. To ensure authenticity, the production involved two dialect coaches and a Cultural Director, with meticulous attention to detail in everything from wardrobe to the relationships on screen.
